There’s yet another new face on campus this year. Or is it a familiar face? It’s Phoebe Moore Miller ’13, assistant director of admission and financial aid.
MIller said, “My hope is that, as an office, we continue to find students who will bring kindness and intellectual curiosity, in order to contribute to the culture that makes this place special.”
But what makes her qualified to choose new students? A former student, Miller has known Mercersburg for a long time. She believes her experience as a student makes her especially suited to her position. “I had the best four years here and am passionate about preserving elements of the school that were meaningful to me,” she said.
Before coming to Mercersburg, Miller worked for the Hershey Company in retail sales and marketing analytics. “I left the Hershey Company because I wanted a more meaningful career,” she said. “I knew that helping kids have a good boarding school experience was perfect for me.”
Miller will also coach the JV girls lacrosse team. “My biggest goal for the JV team here is to introduce girls to the sport and teach them to love it as much as I do!” she said.
As a member of the Irving Literary Society, Miller would love to see a win for her society this year.
In her free time, Miller enjoys running and baking. She also makes and sells decorated sugar cookies online. You can check her out at @cheerfulcookieco on Instagram.
