You’ve probably seen him running across the campus blasting music from his iPhone speaker. Despite having only started running two years ago, cross country captain Aakash Kodoru ’20, notoriously known as A-money, has become a leading athlete at Mercersburg. On September 14, Kodoru ran sub 17 minutes (16:55.77) for the first time in a cross country race at the Ben Bloser Bulldog Invitational, taking twelfth place out of 175 runners.
Proud of her friend, Jade Matthias ‘22 said, “Aakash is truly an inspiration for many young athletes.” Pablo Garza ’22, teammate and rival of Koduru, said, “I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. A-money is a machine. He had a truly impressive time in the toughest course of the season.” As humble as ever, Kodoru replied, “I’m just getting started and I expect to get faster from here!”
